My Opinion:

The film starts by stating it's based on true events. I suspect it's more loosely based than factual and seems to be more of an extremely cheap budget Blair Witch of the sea clone. When three quarters of the film is set on the surface of an open ocean with just two characters you can see that this didn't have a large amount spent on it. Other reviews have referenced a similiarity to Jaws, but this is more than a little inflated as the sharks in this only appear to be a few feet long. Just don't go into this film expecting a polished movie experience. The DVD has a large number of extras which are worth a look.
